The Band

U2 in Echo channels the raw emotion, legendary live energy, and iconic moments from U2’s greatest performances – from Live Aid to Slane Castle – bringing their timeless repertoire to life with passion and power.

U2 in Echo isn’t just a tribute band – it’s a bold reimagining of one of the world’s most iconic rock groups.

Driven by the passion of four seasoned musicians – Mika, Lennert, Stijn, and Wim – this band doesn’t aim to simply imitate U2, they aim to echo its spirit of innovation.

Just like U2 never stood still, U2 in Echo refuses to play it safe. Their biggest shock? A frontWOMAN named Bona instead of Bono – a wink to the original and a statement in itself. Expect faithful renditions of legendary anthems, with strong music and powerfull vocals.

Meet the band

Bona
Mika Kostic U2 in Echo Bono singer

Bona - Mika Kostic

Meet MIKA — the powerhouse vocalist and backbone of U2 in Echo’s sound. Her presence is as rare as it is captivating — a female voice at the forefront of a top-tier tribute band.

With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, MIKA brings tremendous depth as a singer, songwriter, event manager, and music producer. She boasts 14 years of specialized classical piano education, and during her teenage years applied that precision and discipline to developing her vocal artistry and stagecraft.

In 2021, MIKA gained national recognition as a contestant on The Voice Belgium, which showcased her stage presence and versatility. Prior to that, her career spanned performing, songwriting, DJing, and producing events across genres. She’s equally at home behind the keys as she is launching into powerful vocals — always with unmatched dedication.

Raised in a music-loving environment, MIKA blends her love for classical technique with modern performance flair. She’s an expert organizer, fluent in songwriting and music management, and she curates every aspect of the band’s show — from vocals to backing tracks to live programming.

Just like U2 has always reinvented itself over the decades, U2 in Echo brings a fresh and bold perspective to the tribute scene — with MIKA leading the charge. As the female Bono, she delivers not only vocal power, but also the emotional weight and charismatic energy that defines U2’s spirit.

With MIKA on stage, this isn’t just a tribute — it’s a reimagining.

EDGE

The Edge (Lennert Moens)

Lennert is U2 in Echo’s very own The Edge — and then some. Guitarist, keyboardist, backing vocalist, producer, and the brains behind the full live setup, including all the backing tracks. Demanding? Definitely. But the results speak for themselves.

His musical journey began at age eight in music school. What he really wanted was to play synthesizer — he was already fascinated by the blend of instruments and technology — but the only option was classical piano. So he went along with it... for a while. By age twelve, he had saved up for his first electric guitar and amp. That amp had one special effect: delay — his first real connection to the sound of U2.

Lennert grew up surrounded by music and quickly became obsessed with U2. Seeing The Edge’s towering rack of effects on stage sealed the deal. He began hunting down rare pedals, studying every nuance of The Edge’s sound, and could spend hours — even in the middle of the night — fine-tuning a single setting.

Since then, he’s seen U2 live over ten times and even flew to Las Vegas to see them perform at the Sphere. With an ear for detail and a passion for sound design, Lennert doesn't just replicate U2’s music — he brings it to life, note for note, echo for echo.

Stijn Van Der Jeugd as Adam Clayton

Adam Clayton (Stijn Van Der Jeugd)

A band without a bass is like fries without salt — it might fill you up, but it lacks flavor. Luckily, Stijn Van der Jeugd’s deep, warm bass lines make sure U2 in Echo is perfectly seasoned.

Much like Adam Clayton, Stijn picked up his first bass guitar at the age of fourteen — despite having zero experience. Two friends invited him to join their punk band, and he figured, why not? After all, punk is just three chords and the right attitude.

With a proud guitar-playing father (who also happened to be a U2 fan), the stage was set for a musical journey..

That road led through a wide range of musical projects, from raw punk to melodic pop-rock, and eventually to pop-punk with his band Boxing Day. With them, he recorded three EPs, played countless shows, and even toured the UK.

When former colleague Lennert was putting together a U2 tribute band, Stijn didn’t hesitate. Memories of watching loud U2 concerts on TV with his dad — especially the legendary 2001 Slane Castle performance — came flooding back. From the very first rehearsal, where they launched into “All I Want Is You” and “Where the Streets Have No Name,” it was clear: this wasn’t just a new project — it felt like coming home.

ADAM

Larry Mullen jr.  (Wim Geeraerts)

Meet Wim, the rhythmic heartbeat of U2 in Echo — our very own Larry Mullen Jr., behind the drums since the age of six.

Driven by a lifelong passion for music, Wim has built an impressive career playing in a wide range of bands, spanning genres from pop and rock to electro and blues. His dynamic style and solid groove have made him a trusted drummer for several major artists, including Jean Bosco Safari. On top of that, he's also a songwriter in his own right.

With U2 in Echo, Wim channels the energy and precision of Larry Mullen Jr., bringing U2’s iconic drum sound to life. And if your feet can’t stop moving during a show? You know who to blame — Wim makes sure the rhythm grabs you and doesn’t let go.
